How To Respond To The Current Situation

Many have reached out with questions about suggested language that can be sent out to students, donors, parents, etc., about the ongoing situation in Eretz HaKodesh. There are many local sensitivities about approaching this topic. Each Chabad House needs to decide its communication language and strategy based on its own demographics and local sensitivities. Below is a suggested email text that you can customize and use.

We are also intermittently posting positive messages on social media, which you can reshare or reuse if and when appropriate for your audience. Please follow us on Instagram or Facebook to stay up to date.

If you are doing anything that you feel is appropriate to share nationally on social media, please tag us @chabadoncampus so we can reshare.

Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns and other ways we can help.

Dear {FIRST NAME},

I/we write this email with a heavy heart. Our extended Jewish family is under fire.

Rockets are raining down on Israeli cities and towns, and war looms, G-d forbid.

At the 30 Chabad on Campus centers in Israel, students are huddling in bomb shelters.

And every Jew is asking: Is there anything I can do?

Most of us are hundreds or thousands of miles away.

Yet our very being cries out: How can I make a difference?

But yes, there is something you can do: You can do a Mitzvah! A mitzvah, a G‑dly deed, has the power to reach deep into the core of our being—where we are all one, and the physical distance between us is of no consequence.

Let us not underestimate the power of good!

With a single good deed on our part, here and now, we each can contribute toward the victory and safety of our fellow Jews in Israel.

Take a minute to do one or more of the following. You can make a difference!

Here are some practical things you can do right now.

  1. Study a little Torah
  2. Say a prayer
  3. Give charity (HYPERLINK TO YOUR CHABAD HOUSE DONATE PAGE).

May we all have peace and safety with no more bloodshed or pain.

If you are feeling anxious or down, CHABAD OF  EXAMPLE is always here for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us by responding to this email or by calling us @ 000-000-0000

Am Yisroel Chai!
