COCI Team Update

Our most important asset at Chabad on Campus International (COCI) are the talented members of our team.

We are blessed to have an exceptional team who are dedicated and passionate about supporting you and your Shlichus!

In our effort to constantly expand our resources and increase the level of excellence at which we implement them, I am delighted to inform you of some exciting updates to the COCI team.

Vice President of Student Engagement

Rabbi Shlomie Chein, Shliach to UCSC and Director of JewishU, will take on the responsibilities of Vice President of Student Engagement for COCI, effective on 28 Sivan, July 1!

In that role, Rabbi Chein will be maintaining, growing, and increasing COCI’s resources related to supporting the efforts of campus Chabad Houses to engage with students.

Rabbi Chein will continue serving as a campus Shliach at UCSC while investing a substantial amount of his time and energy assisting the larger network of Shluchim and Shluchos through his work at COCI.

Vice President of Shlichus Advancement

Starting on 28 Sivan, July 1, Rabbi Yossi Zavdi will begin serving as our Vice President of Shlichus Advancement.

In that role, Rabbi Zavdi will be establishing, maintaining, and growing our resources related to supporting campus Chabad Houses in their operational and development needs.  

Rabbi Zavdi lives with his family in Florida and will be in the office full-time for the summer and following that for a few days each week.

Manager of Strategic Partnerships

Rabbi Ephraim Merovitch recently joined our team in the role of Manager of Strategic Partnerships which is in our Student Engagement department.

In that role, Ephraim will be establishing and maintaining relationships with the numerous partner organizations who we partner and collaborate with. These include Chabad sister organizations, Israel Advocacy, Teen, Young Professionals, Greek Life, Campus Life, etc.

Senior Development Officer

Mr. Howard Feinberg recently joined our team as a Senior Development Officer.

Howard lives in San Antonio, Texas and comes to COCI following a lengthy and successful career in the Jewish federation system and with other prominent Jewish not-for-profit organizations.

Howard will be working on increasing support to COCI to allow us to increase the scope of our resources.

Student Engagement Support Associate

Ms. Estie Ravnoy, who has been working with COCI and MASA on the MITF program for the last few months, has now become a full-time member of the COCI team and will be serving as our Student Engagement Support Associate.

In that role, Ms. Ravnoy will be responsible for the Student Engagement internal processes (database, marketing, reports, website updates etc.), fielding inquiries from Shluchim and Shluchos, actively recruiting for COCI programs, as well as managing Lamdeni applications and Tefillin and Mezuzah banks.
