Mitzvah Tank USA is a unique initiative that looks to bring the challenges of building a Mitzvah Tank to every Chabad on Campus. When members of the Chabad community in New Haven wanted to bring a Mitzvah Tank to the community, they realized that the cost was really high.
So they had an idea: transform a basic Ford E450 van into a Mitzvah Tank.
“This way we could spread the Rebbe’s message in style,” they said. “With the right design and wrapping, you can transform your van into a stylish and functional Mitzvah Tank that will make heads turn and hearts open!” Using vans or minivans already owned by local residents, they realized that customization becomes a lot more affordable.

Expected Budget:
- Between $30k-$60k, all-inclusive.
Estimated Breakdown:
- Vehicle Cost – $10k-$20K
- Transport Vehicle – $1000
- Designer for Wrap – $1,500
- Wrap the Vehicle – $3,500 – $8,000
- Interior Designer – $1,500
- Modifications to Inside – $15-30K (VARIES GREATLY and can be done for much less if you want a “Mitzvah Bus”)
- Registration – $1000
- Insurance – $3k-$8k
