SHABBOS RESOURCES – WEEKLY MESSAGE

Theme:

The way of the world is that first we build a home, and then we fill it with furniture. Surprisingly Moses suggested that they first make the vessels and then build the Tabernacle structure.
The home, with its walls, represents our ability to create a holy and positive environment and shelter ourselves from outside elements. The furniture represents the specific actions with which we fill our day.
The profound lesson here is that while we may think that we cannot engage in positive and holy acts until we find ourselves in a good place (i.e. the walls of the house are up), we are really encouraged to go ahead and “Just Do It!” and make the right choices even if we don’t feel ready for it (just fill it up with furniture!).
This week’s story is about an amazing courageous act done by a college student which led to an incredible outcome.
